C Based FPGA Design

Today's DSP development is typically written in 'C' targeted for a DSP device. Although enhanced, the DSP processor also has limitations when advanced, time-critical algorithms are implemented. In order to relieve the processing bottleneck additional DSP processors are added to boost performance but even this has limits when very high-speed is required. FPGAs don't have the bottleneck of DSPs and potentially provided unlimited processing power. However, development tools for FPGAs, typically VHDL/Verilog based, have prevented DSP engineers from taking advantage of them.

Xicore provides tools and services for developing 'C' based algorithms for FPGA deployment using proprietary 'C' to HDL translation tools. For more information refer to: http://impulsec.com
